GTX Corp will begin testing its new Cat M1 LTE SmartSoles across North America, Europe and Australia, and will begin the regulatory certification process for FCC/IC and CE.

The following week will begin the device network certification with Verizon, which will be providing the cellular connectivity for the North American market. GTX will also be testing with Orange and Telefonica for connectivity in Europe and Australia.

“With over 200 back orders and increasing demand every day, we intend to begin production as soon as we complete testing and certification, expected sometime next month, and then immediately start fulfilling all pre-orders and backorders first,” said Andrew Duncan, GTX Corp. director.

The patented and award-winning GPS SmartSoles were designed to address Alzheimer’s and autism challenges, where those diagnosed are at risk of wandering and becoming lost. Wandering is a safety issue with far-reaching implications for the person with the disease, their caregiver, law enforcement and healthcare providers.

GPS SmartSoles are placed in the wearer’s shoes. They contain a Nordic Cat M1 LTE GPS module connected through cellular networks that send a GPS location to the GTX central monitoring website and app. GTX is also upgrading its tracking app both for iOS and Android.

The SmartSoles can also be used by people at risk of kidnapping, such as government employees, journalists and corporate executives. SmartSoles come in three trim-to-fit sizes for men, women, and children, are water resistant, include an inductive charging pad, and are assembled in Rhode Island.

GTX Corp, an IoT platform in the personal location GPS wearable and wandering-assistive-technology business, has completed a successful SmartSole pilot program transitioning into a commercial launch in Germany. SmartSoles also launched this month in the United Kingdom.

GTX Corp has signed a reseller distribution agreement with Way4Net, a solution provider in geo-locating and tracking monitoring services. Way4Net placed its first commercial order, with scheduled delivery dates beginning this month and continuing monthly over the next six months.

GPS SmartSoles. GTX Corp’s flagship product, the GPS SmartSoles, are an unobtrusive monitoring and tracking solution for those who suffer from Alzheimer’s, dementia, autism, TBI and other memory disorders and have a tendency to wander.

The SmartSoles are placed in the wearer’s shoes and contain a GPS tracking chip connected through a cellular network that sends a signal to GTX Corp’s proprietary IoT platform monitoring website or smartphone app, showing the exact location of the individual wearing them. They come in several trim to fit sizes for both men and women, are water resistant, made with the highest-quality electronic components and assembled in Rhode Island, U.S.A.

The Dementia Problem. Germany has a population of 83 million people with approximately 1.6 million, or 2 percent of its population who are afflicted with dementia and Alzheimer’s. Just this week, German football legend Gerd Muller announced receiving treatment for Alzheimer’s disease. This disease is not limited only to the senior population — 24,000 people ages 45-65 are already diagnosed throughout Germany.

Many people mistake dementia as a natural consequence of getting older, when it is actually the result of damage to brain cells that affect memory. Dementia affects close to 50 million people worldwide today with no cure for this syndrome on the horizon.

“For us, the solution of GTX SmartSole is one of the best technologies to increase the quality of life of vulnerable people with the symptoms of dementia, Alzheimer’s, autism and other cognitive memory disorders,” said Eric Gnass, CEO of Way4Net. “We are very pleased to introduce this unique product on the German market.”

Transition to Commercial Launch. “We are extremely pleased to have another successful pilot transition into a commercial launch and we are proud to partner with a well-entrenched company like Way4Net,” said Andrew Duncan, GTX Corp director of business development. “We are currently investing a lot of resources in Germany, which is where we design and manufacture our GPS and cellular chip, and have recently signed an M2M agreement with Telefonica Germany which will support our connectivity throughout Europe. Between our launch in Germany and launch last week in the U.K., I plan to stay in Europe for another two weeks working with our partners and chip manufactures on our next-gen SmartSole, expected out in early 2016.”

The patented GPS SmartSoles, which were showcased in Munich at the Telefonica 2015 Innovation Conference Digital Innovation Day, were featured in AARP’s 2015 technology gear guide. They also came in second place — with Microsoft finishing first and Samsung taking third place — in the 2015 Wearables, Health, Fitness & Wellness category at CTIA’s Hot for the Holidays Awards competition.

GTX Corp, which specializes in putting GPS technology in consumer products, and Atlantic Footcare have signed a manufacturing and distribution agreement to develop and launch GPS embedded insoles. Under the agreement, Atlantic Footcare will be making an investment of $200,000 to advance the development of the new GPS SmartSoles.

Atlantic Footcare, headquartered in Rhode Island, has been a designer and manufacturer of insoles for more than twenty years and supplies many of the major athletic and shoe companies, national retail chains, and the U.S military with high-quality and comfort insoles. Atlantic Footcare has experience in embedding electronics inside insoles through other partnerships and alliances and has completed the first prototypes of the GPS SmartSoles, which are undergoing testing.

“This relationship and investment with GTX is a great opportunity to couple technology with an insole, enabling us to produce a truly innovative and cost effective solution to meet today’s growing personal tracking needs. We are very excited at the opportunity to be at the forefront of wearable GPS tracking technology,” said Charlie Sipes, Atlantic Footcare president.

GTX Corp had been researching ways to further miniaturize its GPS module to penetrate new markets and expand current ones. “Compared to our existing module, this next gen is approximately 30 percent smaller, thinner, and lighter; 20 percent less expensive; and has 200 percent more battery life. It is equipped with a motion sensor and advanced A-GPS technology for pinpoint accuracy and rapid time to first fix,” said GTX Corp CEO Patrick Bertagna. “The opportunity to partner with Atlantic Footcare opened up and with this latest next generation device, embedding the module inside an insole was a natural next step.”

  • LOCiMobile Launches Enterprise Work Force Tracking App TMWF

LOCiMOBILE, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of GTX Corp, has launched its first enterprise app for companies looking to effectively track and monitor their workforce in real time. Track My Work Force (“TMWF”) is available for download on iTunes, and based on its early success, is in development for release on the Android platform.

Once downloaded on either an iPhone or iPad, the app works in the background and reports the whereabouts of that device back to the GTX Corp monitoring back-end. The app was designed for small- to medium-sized companies that have a mobile sales or service workforce and need to know the location of their reps in real time. Companies in the U.S., Canada, Czech Republic and Morocco, in industries including transportation, construction, plumbing, IT, medical and pharmaceutical, have already deployed the TMWF app and the GTX back-end monitoring platform.

    Morocco+All
In January, a pharmaceutical company based out of Morocco that services 25,000 pharmacies across several North African countries deployed TMWF for 150 of its sales reps.

“Our diamond delivery business relies heavily on our traveling sales representatives in order to maintain relations with existing customers as well as meeting new ones. GTX Corp’s Track My Work Force app was extensively tested during our system trial,” Jack Daynes of the Diamond Group said. “The results were such that we implemented the program immediately and haven’t regretted it in the slightest. Both the pricing and the service that we’ve received have exceeded our expectations.”

Companies can easily deploy this technology by leveraging the mass adoption of smartphones and tablets in the workforce, said GTX Corp. In January, a pharmaceutical company based out of Morocco that services 25,000 pharmacies across several North African countries deployed the app for 150 of its sales reps.

“We are very pleased with the initial feedback and potential of this app,” said Patrick Bertagna, GTX Corp CEO. “There are tens of thousands of companies all over the world that can benefit and increase customer service, productivity and security from two-way GPS technology and are now able to implement this technology with a simple download.”

The TMWF app is an efficient and cost-effective way for business owners and managers to keep track of and manage their mobile work force, GTX Corp said. It’s faster and safer than text messaging and allows the worker to focus on the task at hand rather than spending valuable time calling HQ to check in and report, the company said. The app costs $9.99 initially, with an additional monthly monitoring service fee that costs around $5.00 per user per month.

The company provides a free two-week evaluation for any business with more than five employees, and custom solutions along with a licensable white-label platform for larger companies.

  • GTX Corp Brings GPS Shoes for Alzheimer’s to UK, Ireland

GTX Corp has announced today that its patented GPS tracking smart shoe will be commercially available in the U.K and Ireland this month. The Aetrex Navistar GPS shoes will be made under license by comfort footwear maker Aetrex Worldwide, Inc., and will be distributed by Tipp Toes, an Aetrex Worldwide distributor located  in Ireland.

The Alzheimer’s Society in the U.K estimates there are 800,000 people in the UK and Ireland afflicted with Alzheimer’s and Dementia who are prone to wandering. Statistics show that if not found within the first 24 hours, more than half may be found seriously harmed. The GPS technology embedded inside comfortable walking shoes designed for seniors were first introduced in the U.S. and Australia. EE, the UK digital communications company, will be the wireless SIM provider for the GPS shoes after having recently signed a global contract with GTX Corp that will enable the shoes to work in more than 50 countries across the globe which utilize the GSM network.

The shoe wearer can be monitored remotely, thereby helping to  ensure  their safety, providing peace of mind to their caregivers and  reducing the cost of remote oversight. The shoes are embedded with a miniaturized proprietary module that contains the locator’s integrated GPS/cellular chipset and the SIM card unique to each wearer. The GPS shoes communicate via EE’s cellular network and sends location coordinates via a wireless data connection, similar to sending SMS messages on a cell phone. If the wearer wanders outside of a pre-set location determined by the caregiver, an SMS or email message will alert the caregiver instantly.

The GPS shoes have been heralded by healthcare and technology authorities around the world and is featured in the “100 Most Important Inventions of Mankind” Exhibit in the National Museum of Science and Technology in Sweden.
