Evaluation Kit by NVS Tecnologies

Photo: NVS Technologies Evaluation Kit NV08C-EVK-CSM by NVS Technologies is a set of instruments for a developer of systems based on NVS Technologies’ NV08C-CSM module. Use of EVK-CSM is a convenient way to learn functionality of NV08C-CSM and begin system design.
The EVK-CSM may be used in navigation systems to obtain the current position (latitude, longitude and elevation), velocity vector, and time GNSS signals including GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, Compass, and SBAS in any location on Earth and at any time. The EVK-CSM is a flexible tool that allows users to evaluate various modes of operation of the NV08C-CSM and to override a default configuration and connection diagram with jumpers.
Connectors and jumpers on EVK-CSM PCB provide simple monitoring of intermediate signals and parameters (digital IOs state, power supply voltages, and currents on individual supply inputs).

NVS Technologies Selected by Alberding for Sub-Meter GNSS Receiver
Alberding GmbH, a developer and distributor of professional GNSS system solutions, has recently announced the Alberding A07 personal navigator, featuring NVS Technologies AG’s NV08C-CSM high-performance multi-GNSS constellation receiver. The Alberding A07 is a low-cost single frequency GNSS receiver designed for personal navigation and other sub-meter accuracy positioning applications in an urban environment.
The device integrates NVS Technologies’ NV08C-CSM multi-constellation (GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, COMPASS and SBAS) L1 receiver with GPRS and Bluetooth communication modules, an RFID reader, and a processor. The Alberding A07 comes with an integrated GNSS antenna, but for monitoring and tracking applications, it is also available with an external antenna.Applications include:
- Pedestrian navigation and tracking
- Navigation for the visually impaired
- RFID based indoor positioning
- Transportation
- GIS data collection
- Displacement monitoring and alarming
The Alberding DGNSS processing algorithm and Kalman filter take raw GNSS observation data to compute a highly accurate position solution in real time. Position information can then be transmitted via Bluetooth to custom specific applications running on devices such as smartphones. As an example, the Alberding A07 can assist blind or visually impaired people with orientation and navigation on the streets.

NVS Technologies Launches Embedded Mini GNSS Receiver
NVS Technologies AG announces today, from the ION-GNSS 2012 Conference in Nashville, the launch of the NV08C-Mini PCI-E Embedded Mini PCI Express GNSS Receiver.
The NV08C-Mini PCI-E is a fully integrated GNSS receiver module, optimized for Mini PCI Express (Mini-PCIe) based applications. Its key feature is its full compatibility with GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS, COMPASS (GNSS), and EGNOS, WAAS, MSAS, and GAGAN (SBAS). It is specifically designed for use in a wide range of mobile computing, in-vehicle and rugged handheld computer equipment, for the security/public safety, telematics/fleet management, and precision GIS/survey, machine control, and agriculture markets. Features include:
- Embedded mini PCI Express GNSS receiver
- Very quick and simple integration
- GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS, COMPASS, SBAS L1
- Precise navigation, positioning, and timing
- 32 GNSS tracking channels / 200K correlators — Ensuring fast TTFF and high signal sensitivity
- NMEA 0183 / IEC 61162-1, binary (BINR) and RTCM SC-104 v2.3 data protocols
- Raw Data output — Pseudorange, Carrier phase and Doppler
- Individual GLONASS group delay calibration — Assuring very high accuracy
- Receiver Autonomous Integrity Monitoring (RAIM) / Assisted GNSS (A-GNSS) interface
- 64 KB EEPROM for firmware upgrade and data storage
- Industrial operating temperature range ‐40 to +85°C
The NV08C-Mini PCI-E offers high sensitivity, high-performance acquisition and tracking, NMEA and raw data outputs, plus Differential (D-GNSS) and Assisted GNSS (A-GNSS) functions. Tracking satellites from multiple GNSS constellations ensures much higher availability of navigation signals, when compared to single constellation alternatives, and provides increased performance, accuracy, and reliability, NVS Technologies said. It features two RF channels (GPS and GLONASS), three-stage SAW filtration for high noise immunity, and several protocol interfaces and a supply voltage source for an active antenna. This fully featured embedded Mini PCI-e GNSS receiver is the quickest-to-market solution for mobile computing applications, the company said.
