    1Spatial, a location master data management (LMDM) software and solutions provider, has secured a three-year contract with a leading Distribution System Operator for electricity and gas networks in Belgium. 1Sparial plans to support the utility company in developing a digital twin for its distribution network, with a focus on enhancing the quality and precision of its geospatial data.

    The contract is for geospatial data processing services. 1Spatial’s 1Integrate will be used for data quality control, validation and geospatial data production services.

    The project will allow the utility company to efficiently manage distribution networks and make connections and repairs while ensuring safety.

    The total contract value to 1Spatial is €9 million, of which 1Spatial will deliver €4.1 million including €0.3 million in term software license revenue. 1Spatial will utilize partners to deliver the balance of the work, with a total value of €4.9 million, over the three-year duration of the contract.

    The Turf Tank Two features dual motor drives for enhanced torque and optimized wheels for traction. On its own and controlled through a tablet, the Turf Tank Two can paint a regulation soccer field for two teams of 11 players each in less than 24 minutes, a baseball or softball field in less than 11 minutes, a lacrosse field in less than 26 minutes, and a full 100-yard football field in less than 3.5 hours. It can also paint logos and numbers. The Turf Tank Two is 43 in x 33 in x 22.5 in. It weighs 123 lbs, without paint or the battery installed, and it can hold 5.5 gallons of paint.     The LEXI-R4 module is customized for size-constrained application requirements. The device is suitable for small asset trackers, such as pet and personal trackers, micro-mobility devices, and luggage tags. The LEXI-R4 module supports all LTE-M and NB-internet of things (IoT) bands, with an RF output power of 23 dBm. It is natively designed to support GNSS AT commands, and its dedicated port enables easy integration with any u-blox M10-based GNSS module, such as the MIA-M10. Additionally, the module can connect to additional positioning services, such as AssistNow and CellLocate. The compact size of the module, measuring 16 mm x 16 mm, results from a 40% footprint reduction in dimensions compared to the previous u-blox SARA-R4. Whenever LTE-M/NB-IoT coverage conditions are not optimal, it continues to function by falling back onto a 2G network.     Features in 1Data Gateway 2.5 are designed to make it easier for data contributors to submit their data. An Optional Data Submission feature allows contributors to submit exceptions to validations, and new integration with Esri ArcGIS Online adds a simple method of user authentication and authorization.

    A new Welsh-language option and updated support for 1Integrate 3.2 are included. Areas improved include schema mapping, allowing contributors to see the target schema and easily select attributes from dropdown menus.

    “This release is great for data contributors and streamlining our processes,” said Michael Martin, director of Consultancy at 1Spatial Inc. “We’re using new email notifications to receive an email upon successful submission, or for submissions that need my attention. Authenticating and authorizing via ArcGIS Online makes user-group maintenance easier, and the new Schema mapping is now also so much quicker, with easy selection of attributes from the target schema. Overall, this release is a huge time saver.”

    1Spatial has extended the capability of its survey application 1Edit, increasing support for photos and 2.5D data.

    1Edit 3.1 allows users to attach feature photos, including automated geotagging, which enables surveyors to visualize assets and fine-tune their observations. The latest version now includes new validation functions and improved handling for heights (2.5D data), typically useful for detailed asset and land-management surveys.

    Enhanced styling, including bitmap fills and dashed lines, make it easier to identify and classify different asset types during surveys. Additional control of editable layers and fields provide protection for non-editable data and protects the quality of data. Significant improvements to rendering of thematic mapping further enhances the speed and fluidity of the intuitive user interface.

    1Edit also now supports the storage of photographs as an attribute on a feature. The photos can be captured from the front or rear camera and are stored as a Label object.

    “1Edit’s new survey capabilities further expands our customers’ ability to collect trusted, validated data that is right first time,” said Robert Chell, chief product officer. “By increasing the number of validation options available during a survey, we improve both the quality and accuracy of data, and the effectiveness of survey processes.”

    1Data Gateway 2.4 now has an extended REST API enabling automated submission of data from other applications, while maintaining access control and security of the data supply chain. Submission metadata can be passed back into 1Integrate sessions for downstream processes and analysis. 1Integrate 2.10 can also be configured to “fast-track” certain sessions onto higher priority engines, ensuring important submissions are not left queuing behind other routine jobs.

    UK Contract Awarded

    Following a competitive tender and in collaboration with Version 1, a global IT services and solutions company, has signed a multiyear contract with the United Kingdom Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) to provide a managed service for the Rural Payments Agency’s (RPA) Rural Payments Service and Land Management System (LMS).

    The contract will provide a recurring managed service enabling DEFRA and the Rural Payments Agency to deliver its current Basic Payment and Countryside Stewardship Schemes. In addition, the new contract enables 1Spatial and Version 1 to support RPA and DEFRA through Agricultural Transition.

    1Spatial has worked with RPA over the past five years to support and develop its Land Management System, an ecosystem of IT components, processes and data, including 1Integrate software. The LMS is RPA’s key control system used as a remote-sensing monitoring tool and to master the land registration data used for subsidy-scheme validation and agricultural policy implementation.

    1Spatial, a company with location master data management (LMDM) software and solutions, has been granted a UK patent for modification and validation of spatial data.

    The UK patent protects the use of 1Spatial’s rules engine technology, which is used in products such as 1Integrate and 1Data Gateway, further strengthening the group’s international patent coverage, which includes a U.S. patent for modification and validation of spatial data.

    The 1Integrate rules engine solves the issue of managing the quality of data in one or more databases.  Ensuring good-data quality, which is also referred to as master data management is an issue for most organizations, especially where databases are large, complex and interconnected with other systems.

    Bad data quality reduces the operational efficiency of organizations and prevents effective decision making. The 1Integrate rules engine solves this issue using a rules-based validation process which checks and cleans the data in order to measure, improve and protect the quality of the data and hence improve the operations, decisions and software implementations that depend on it.

    1Spatial has released a number of updates, including its membership in the Data Management Association (DAMA) UK and two software updates.

The chapters are supported by DAMA International, which maintains the data management body of knowledge and the certified data management professional certification. DAMA UK is a local chapter that aims to nurture a community of data professionals in the U.K. who champion the value of data management.

    1Spatial has unveiled 1Integrate v2.7, which the company says ensures compliance of data for use across the enterprise and provides automated data validation, cleaning, transformation and enhancement. It also enables users to access the quality of data to ensure it meets defined specifications and is fit for purpose.

    This release adds support for Esri feature services via a connection to the ArcGIS server, enhanced security features and the ability to define custom task labels. It’s also able to toggle groups of indexes for improved efficiency when configuring data stores, as well as provide simple integration wit lightweight directory access protocol for WEbLogic installations. It features custom task labels, updated platform support and a clearer view of available datastores if FME is not being utilized alongside 1Integrate.

    “We have focused our improvements on data access, with the ability to connect to Esri ArcGIS Server essential as many of our customers are moving to SaaS offerings,” said Sarah Gadd, 1Integrate product manager. “We have also made improvements in usability, with the new custom tasks labels making even the most complex sessions easier to read and maintain.     1Spatial also has released 1Data Gateway v2.1. According to the company, 1Data Gateway is a web-based portal for spatial data validation, processing and analytics. It provides a simple and controlled way to deliver validation rules, corrections and data enhancement processes for users with no training required and can be deployed on the cloud or on-premise, the company added.

    The release includes a variety of new features, including the introduction of conformance thresholds which enable the automatic rejection of submissions, giving customers more control over validation of their data. It also includes support for 1Integrate 2.7, user interface and washboarding improvements, support for missing features and attributes, task conformance pass thresholds, improved schema mapping management, media retention policies, more granularity in user permissions and export statistics in CSV format.

    1Spatial has formed a strategic partnership with international technology company Neueda. 1Spatial and Neueda will jointly provide digital solutions that enable customers to transform and improve the way they do business.

    1Spatial is a software solutions provider and global expert in managing location and geospatial data.

    Neueda provides digital transformation services to customers in the private sector, public sector and capital markets across the globe. Headquartered in Belfast, Neueda has bases in Dublin, London, Malaga and New York.

    As a software solutions provider and global experts in managing location and geospatial data, 1Spatial will complement Neueda’s services by provisioning geospatial digital services that support customer transformation and improvement projects.

  • 1Spatial Named in ‘1000 Companies to Inspire Britain’

    1Spatial plc, a spatial big data company, was acknowledged for the second year running in the London Stock Exchange’s (LSE) research report as one of “1000 Companies to Inspire Britain.”

    1Spatial provides the software and services to manage spatial big data, working with users and creators of geospatial databases to help them collect, manage, plan, maintain, publish and interpret location-specific information. Its clients include national mapping agencies, land registries, utility and telecommunications companies, and government departments including emergency services, defense and census bureaus.

    To be considered for inclusion in the report, companies had to meet a range of criteria. These included being UK based, having a turnover of between £6-250 million in the last 12 months, and having a minimum of three years in operation. Companies had to demonstrate not only a positive growth in revenue over the last four years, but also an increase in employee numbers, workspace, contract wins or patent filings. 

    The LSE research report examined in detail the opportunities and challenges facing small and medium-sized enterprises and looked at the sectors and trends that will shape the future of the UK economy.
